Emory Decatur Hospital Invests US$22 million to Renovate Behavioural Health Services in USA

Introduction:

Emory Decatur Hospital in the USA has revealed a US$22 million investment to its behavioural health services unit. This upgrade integrates adult outpatient and inpatient services into a unified space within the hospital.

Features:

The renovation at Emory Decatur Hospital will enable it to accommodate the previous volumes of behavioural health services provided at Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods, making treatment options more streamlined for patients.

Spanning over 30,000 square feet across three units on three floors, the renovated space boasts natural lighting and enhanced security features.

The inpatient and outpatient units will offer a comprehensive continuum of behavioural health care, with access to Emory Decatur’s various specialties and onsite emergency department.

The renovation project includes 32 inpatient beds and two outpatient programs: a neuromodulation clinic and a transitions program.

The neuromodulation clinic utilizes technology to deliver treatments for psychiatric illnesses directly to target areas. It also features procedure rooms, pre-op and recovery areas, and a multipurpose room with clinic support space.

The transitions program is an intensive outpatient treatment program offering group and individual therapy to aid patients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care, including specialized programs for seniors, adults, young adults, and men.

The updated space at Emory Decatur Hospital will ensure that the clinical needs and expectations of patients, families, staff, and physicians are met, while also serving the broader community.
